I bought my Fiesta car in 2011 and have had these problems for most of this time. Ford have put it over their computer and they say there is nothing wrong... Engine sometimes revs when braking. Engine quite often falters (misses) at slow speed. Car sometimes surges at slow speed. When taking off from stop or rolling, engine can hesitate briefly. This is very dangerous. I have Googled 'problems with 2011 Fiesta" and have found a result where it said that FORD is aware of faults similar to my problems. A mechanic who I was talking to about these problems said it could be the Sequential Dual Clutch. I would appreciate any advice or help I can get please. Thanks

From your description, this sounds like a characteristic of the DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), and not a fault as such. This transmission (similar to VW's DSG, Audi's S-tronic etc) is basically a manual gearbox which operates automatically. There will often be a slight shudder when pulling away slowly, which I'm assuming is the characteristic you refer to as the engine faltering. This is just the clutch engaging. The engine revving when braking is actually the gearbox shifting down, in order to be in the optimum gear for the speed you are travelling, again, a normal function of the transmission.
If this is what you are refering to, there will be nothing Ford can do to change this, as it's operating as designed.
Generally speaking, enthusiastic drivers prefer the feel of a DCT as there is no slip or flair and the car feels much more positive under acceleration. Unfortunately, it sounds like it's just a characteristic that you don't like or doesn't fit with your driving style.
If I have understood you correctly, there is nothing dangerous about this.
If you prefer a smoother shift at low speeds, perhaps a car with a CVT transmission or even a conventional automatic (which is becoming less common) might suit your preference better.

My advice....DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. The 'faults' I were experiencing as stated in my first post above were in fact faults. My car has recently been at FORD for one week while they ironed out the problems I was experiencing. They also came across more faults that I wasn't aware until they mentioned them. A full upgrade of the computer was needed. It was a very long and arduous job for the FORD technicians to bring my car up to the correct standards. Thank you FORD. I am now driving a car that I am proud to say is a FORD Fiesta.

Interesting that the Ford dealer innitially said there were no faults showing up on their diagnostic computer, and now they have been able to remedy the problem. Great news that they have now been able to iron out the problems you have been complaining about since 2011. As you say, persistance has paid off!

My wife and I have a Ford Fiesta with this same shuddering issue. It feels terrible to drive. Clutch has been replaced however the fault (or characteristic) has returned. Does AA have any current guidance following what I understand has been a recent court finding in Australia.

Same problems with my Fiesta. Complained to local Ford dealer about the problem. They admitted that their was something wrong with the particular transmission, but they are 'powerless' to do something about it. Not only does the shuddering feel terrible, it is also dangerous being unable to accelerate.
