Can you please tell me how much it would cost to change the cam belt for a subaru Forrester- it has has run    221,321km its a 1999 model

At a guess I would say around $700.00 but this can increase if other parts (water pump, seals, etc.) need replacing at the same time. You should request written quotes from reputable workshops and compare prices and check which replacement parts are included in the price. Some workshops will quote low and once they have the vehicle in the workshop they up-sell the water pump and seals.
