Hi guys, looking for a vehicle to tow a 700kg load (small boat). Would a 2L 4wd wagon cut it? Im not keen on a SUV, and only to use on slipways and open road (no beach or risky banks!) - been toying with 2.5L or 3L. Maybe Subaru Legacy. thoughts?

A 2L 4wd vehicle should tow the boat without any trouble. Most cars recommended unbraked towing weights are around 500kg to 700kg but they are model specific so you will need to confirm this when you have a vehicle in mind. The 3L Subaru Legacy is better avoided as they were know to have overheating problems, also a 2L or a 2.5L engine will be sufficient for this size boat.
