I have noticed a slight " clunk " sound coming from the rear when I accelerate from a standing position and accelerating from rounding a corner.
It doesnt do it if I take off really slowly and I have checked in the back to make sure there are no loose tools etc.
Someone has suggested that it could be a differential mount, but the car has only done just over 17,000km and I wouldnt have expected wear and tear at that mileage.
Any thoughts as to what it could be?

There are a number of things that could be causing this noise to appear. Firstly you should ensure that the rear door is properly closed. Ensure that none of the seat belt buckles are swaying loose and banging on something. Also check for any loose items and make sure the spare tyre is secure.

It is possible that one of the differential mounts could need to be retightened or a faulty universal joint on the propshaft that needs replacing.

You should take the vehicle to a mechanic to diagnose the fault if you do not solve the problem.
