Hi
I have a Isuzu 3.1dt 1997 , does this vehicle have a warning light to tell me when the cambelt needs replacing ?
Also its terrible to start on very cold mornings, have had new glow plugs fitted and battery with no vast improvement , it does help slightly if i warm plugs up 2/3 times before turning engine over ?
Any ideas

I am not aware of any timing belt warning light on the Isuzu 3.1DT but the cambelt should be replaced every 90,000km or 6 years whichever comes first. If you are not sure when last it has been replaced you should consider replacing it soon.

The starting problem could possibly be related to a internal engine problem. If the mileage is very high it could be worn piston rings, cracked piston crown etc.. You need to get the starting problem checked out by a mechanic. If the glow plugs are working correctly a compression test or a leak down test (performed by a mechanic) should indicate if an engine problem exists.
