hi Jack
I have been most confused and a little frustrated by this and would appreciate your help in clarifying. I have to replace the front and rear rotors of the above car. My tire is 16".
I was sold a 300mm rotor 22mm thickness for the front and was told the 2 sizes of 286mm and 300mm are just the payload difference and i can use either one without the need to change any other part/s like the caliper carrier! is this correct? I have been told the correct on is 286mm and if i were to use the 300mm then i will have to change the caliper carrier. please help clarify.

as to the rear there are also 2 sizes, i have been told, is the situation similar for the rear -that either one will fit without any issue of needing to change any other part, eg the carrier? and if i use the 300mm ( bigger of the 2) do i have to use the bigger rear rotor as well?

thanks

The size 300mm and 286mm refers to the diameter of the rotors. In most cases, it is not possible to change the size of the rotor to a larger or smaller one without having to change the brake callipers and/or brackets. Without the correct rotors fitted it is possible the brakes will not function properly. I strongly advise you to replace the rotors with the same size rotors that comes off the vehicle.
