Is there currently a bill being introduced into parliament to require airbags to be replaced in vehicles every 10 yrs?

Anon

The subject of replacing airbags every 10 years has been a topic of discussion since they were introduced but currently we are not aware of a bill like this being implemented. The cost to replace the airbags on old vehicles will likely be more than the value of the car. Airbags have a reputation for successfully deploying in accidents long after the recommended replacement date but how long they will actually work for is hard to say. The best thing to do is replace the airbags at the recommended time if you can afford to do so. Otherwise, buy the safest car your budget allows for.
