I have recently been given a Mitsubishi Mirage 1989 Engine No. KU1290 to drive, I am wondering if this moro has a cambelt or camchain.

The Mitsubishi Mirage has a cambelt. You should ensure it has been replaced recently.

Thank you very much, is there any chance you would have any idea of the cost to have this done, the previous owner had the car for 8 years and travelled from 177000 klm to now 233000 klms and has not been done in their time.

This is only a guess but it could cost around $800.00 depending if there is any other parts that need replacing. You should get a few quotes for the cambelt kit replacement and water pump replacement at the same time. Most workshops will quote you on the cambelt replacement to get the work and up-sell the water pump when they have the vehicle stripped in the workshop.
