Hi, I just bought a Nissan Liberty that has done 109Ks. I was driving this morning when noticed that the fuel gauge rose up, about 4 ticks from it was originally, and the gauge is electronic/digital display. Is this due to any fault? I would appreciate your help.

In some cases when filling up with fuel and the ignition is left on the fuel gauge will not rise. It will only show the correct fuel level after leaving the ignition off for a while and then switching it on again. It is possible this has happened and it has re-calibrated itself and now shows the correct fuel level. Another possibility is the vehicle was parked at an angle and when driving off the fuel settled and the gauge now shows correct. You would need to monitor it and if the fault persists have it checked out by an auto electrician.

Thanks Donavan. Its a bit strange really of the sudden jump on the gauge. The car was parked not on an angle, the road I was driving was not steep (Auckland motorway), and did not fill up the car at any stage. Hopefully it did show the right gauge, else it will be a hassle.
