Can a vehicle pass a WOF if it is unable to be put into gear eg drivable but certain gears like reverse are difficult to engage if at all. What is the appropriate legislation for this from the WOF criteria?

The WOF check is a safety inspection. The vehicle must be safe to be operated.

I will need more information to advise further.

Basically the vehicle is unable to engage reverse, I have heard of vehicles passing that have a missing sync and skipping a gear in forward. This vehicle seems to have attitude with reverse gear.

Since no one was able to advise I consulted a WOF service provider and there was nothing in the regulations about reverse gear being required. Vehicle has since passed legally!
