Hello
I put by car in for its WOF yesterday (09/08/12) and it failed on the front brakes
So I talked to the mechanic and organised for the brakes to be fixed today (10/08/12)
He then informed me that its going to cost another $55 to resit the WOF
Is this normal?

This is not normal. If the recheck is done at the same WOF centre within 28 days there should be no charge for a re-check.
However, if you take it to a second WOF Centre, they will charge you for a complete second inspection. This is because the second inspector is signing his name to the inspection, so he will need to re-do the complete inspection as he would be held responsible. (eg; in the event of an accident where the vehicle's safety was called into question etc).
