Hi there

We have had our 2008 Toyota Corolla repaired after being advised that there was water in our petrol which had caused corrosion to the fuel tank mechanism.

We have been advised that the source of the water has come from corrupted petrol.

Is there likely to be any long term damage to the engine or any other vehicle parts as a result of there being water in our petrol ie corrosion to the engine or something similar.

We are intending to keep the vehicle for some years to come but if it is going to need ongoing repairs we may well be better to sell it.

Many thanks

Phil

As long as the repair has been carried out properly and all corrosion been attended to, there should be no on-going problems.
