I drive a Honda Odyssey. The front tyres are not so old but 80% worn out because they are badly worn on the inside edge.

The rear tyres are new.

Should the new back tyres be moved to the front of the car or would this cause them to start wearing the same as the current front tyres?

Would you suggest a wheel alignment at this stage to solve the problem?

Yes definitely the steering geometry needs to be checked before you start moving the best tyres to the front. I suggest you try and find a wheel alignment specialist to check the vehicle as they tend to use their expertise to look for reasons why the alignment has changed rather than just make adjustments.

The alignment specialist will advise on the tyre condition but it is generally accepted in the trade that the best tyres should always be fitted to the rear of the vehicle. Obviously the front tyres need to be of a high standard as well.
