The "check engine oil"warning light comes up intermittently on the dashboard. The services are up to date and i have been told the oil sending unit sensor needs replacing as the oil levels are fine. My question is how many sensor units would this model car have for this problem? Two mechanics have told me two different things, one said they only have one sensor and the other says two. Which one is correct?

I think the confusion around the two sensors is that the engine will have one oil pressure sensor and one oil level sensor. The issue with your car will be associated with the oil level sensor, of which there is only one.

What is the possibility of both these sensors going at the same time?

ABayliss

It would be most unusual for both sensors to fail at the same time, but as the message you are getting relates to oil level, not oil pressure, it's the level sensor at fault, not the pressure sensor. Therefore, it would appear that only one sensor is at fault.
