I have a '92 subaru legacy. Have just been told that the crank shaft pulley is broken. What exactly does this involved? Really just want to know is it worth fixing or is it time for a new car. It all sounds fiddly and expensive.....

This shouldn't be a major problem. The crankshaft pulley is not inside the engine - it bolts onto the front, so access isn't a huge problem. I'd say it's definitely worth fixing.
