Hi there,

We have had our Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia on a road trip (Wellington - Coromandel - Hawkes Bay - Wellington) over the last 10 days. Prior to the trip, we took the vehicle to its 6 month service and WOF checkup, which it reportedly passed without a hitch. New tyres were fitted and balanced 6 months ago.

On the trip, we noticed a gentle shudder at 90-100 km/h. This has remained consistent throughout the trip, and on driving the vehicle since. There is the very occasional bump audible from the R front wheel. There is no steering wheel shaking or veering either side.

My feeling is that the suspension may need fixed, or the wheels balanced? Others have suggested cambelt slipping (but there is no noise or stoppages).

Should I take the car back to the servicing workshop, or the tyre provider?

From your description it sounds more like a wheel balance problem. A tyre shop would be my first port of call.
