I recently had a pre-purchase inspection done on a Nissan Wingroad, and the report simply stated the automatic transmission 'needs a service'. What does this mean exactly? Is it new fluids (the fluids were clean, i.e. red), or is it flush/filter changes? If its just the fluids, they are red and clean, and the transmission shifts very smoothly. Furthermore, is it something I should address immediately, or wait until the next service (which I'd do in a month or so anyways). Thoughts on this appreciated.

If the fluid is clean and red, and the shifts are good, it's likely the recommendation has been made on the basis of time and/or mileage as preventative maintenance.
If that is the case, I'd say it could probvably wait until the next service is due.
It may pay to check with the inspector as to why the recommendation was made.
