I have a 2001 Ford Mondeo manual with the Duratech 2.0 litre engine. It is not the Zetec model. Does this have a cam belt or chain? The salesman we bought it off said a chain but another firm has said belt and as it has now done 176 Km and not been changed we are concerned, thanks.

The Duratech (petrol) and Duratorque (diesel) engines are chain driven. You would be right to be concerned at 176,000km if it had a belt, although it would most likely have broken before now!
