I have a 1996 Nissan Sunny, manual.
Took it in for a holiday check.
Apparently the clutch is worn.
I am wondering what this will entail in regards to repairing and what would be an approximate costing that I would be looking at for this?

This is a fairly straight forward job. The gearbox with need to be removed to access the clutch assembly.

From there it’s a matter of removing and replacing the clutch cover/pressure plate and the clutch disc itself.

These parts are sold as a kitset which also includes what is called the release bearing. All up the kitset sells for approx $150 from a Nissan agent.

Additional costs are obviously the labour which should be around 5 hours and you could work on an average of approximately $85 per hour on today’s rates. A couple of differential side seals is also possible as well as a machine of the engine flywheel.

An estimated total cost would be around the $650 mark.
