Just changed the oil and filter on the car and when I started it up it seems to have no oil pressure, and no oil in the new filter either. Any thoughts on the problem?

I am reluctant to pass on too much advice to be honest because the longer the engine runs with no oil pressure, the higher the risk of severe engine damage being caused.

The obvious thing to look at is the current oil level to ensure there is enough oil added to ensure the oil pump can produce enough pressure or deliver oil to the filter.

Depending on the angle of the filter you could try and pre-fill the filter with oil before it is fitted to the engine block.

Be very careful you don’t over rev the engine with no or low oil pressure.

If there is nothing obviously wrong I suggest you give your local garage a call. They may be prepared (for a cost) to come to your house, have a quick look and pass on some advice as required.

Did you put the drain plug back in the sump? I guess you see a huge oily mess on the ground if you didn't though.
