I have a Mitsubishi Cedia and would like some information about it if possible.
The badge says GDI ECO but it doesn't appear to be any more economical that other petrol cars.
On the gear select console there is a Ds position. Is this Drive Sport?
I have also been told that it is four wheel drive. Is this true on automatics?

The GDI System is specific to Mitsubishi. It is a direct fuel Injection system which is designed for efficiency. However, as they age, the inlet and injectors can become blocked with carbon causing poor running and poor fuel economy.
As this is a specific Mitsubishi system, it would be advisable to have it looked at by a Mitsubishi specialist or dealer, as generic mechanics may not be completely familiar with the system.
It is unlikely your car is 4WD however, it is possible that there may have been such a model offered in Japan (the vehicle is a Japanese used import by the sounds of things), but it would be most uncommon. A mechanic will be able to easily identify this either way very quickly.
Regarding your question relating to the gear selector. Most cars with an "S" mode relate to 'Sport' however, we believe that the 'DS' in this case means 'Slow' instead of the traditional 'Low'. This may be helpful if the transmission needed to be held in low gear for some reason. In normal driving conditions you would leave the gear selector in 'D'.
