What is the difference between the 2300 & 2500 engines in the Mazda 6 sport hatch. Which one is better more reliable etc. Are the manuals ok or are the autos the best way to go ?

The Mazda6 is a very good choice of vehicle regardless of engine size or transmission type.

The difference in engine size simply provides options for potential buyers to make a selection based on lifestyle or other needs. If, for example, you were looking at carrying reasonable loads on a regular basis then the larger engine may be the better choice. And the fuel consumption may not suffer at all in comparison to the smaller engine.

Automatics are the transmission of choice for most buyers these days however, a manual is pretty much bullet proof reliability wise and would produce slightly better all-round fuel consumption.

Resale values are no doubt better with an automatic.
