Very noisy on most roads: Are there brands that are quieter?. I am less concerned about less mileage thatn the noise

Tyre noise is an ongoing issue in NZ due to our course chip roads.

The AA does not recommend any particular brand but we do say to stick to the main and established players in the market.

If the car is a used import it could have a type of snow tyre fitted which can be extremely noisy on our roads.

Take the car to your local tyre shop and let then have a look and ask their opinion. I’m sure many tyre shops around the country are getting asked this question almost daily.
