I am considering purchasing a used Nissan Murano. Should I be worried about CVT on a car that has done say 50-70k? I have heard or read that early versions of CVT could be dodgy and not have the greatest longevity. Hopefully by now car manufacturers by now would have solved any such issues. Our little car is a new colt plus and the CVT on that is great.

Thanks

Nissan seem to have their CVT's pretty well sorted. The AA are currently running a couple of Murano's on their fleet which have exceeded 70K and been trouble free.

Early used Primera imports are best avoided but anything NZ new seems to be OK from our knowledge and experience.

More and more manufacturers are moving towards this type of transmission mainly for their fuel saving benefits
