Hi, I have a 1988 Ford Festiva. It has a tendency to stall when put into gear, there is also sometimes hesitation when accelerating. A friend of mine suggested this might due to a vacuum leak, does this sound possible or might it be something else?

We have our doubts it is vacuum leak however, you can’t rule it out completely. A trained eye/ear should pickup any such issues pretty quickly.

Either way a visit to your local garage so they can experience the problem is the best way forward.
