I have a Lexus IS300 and the plastic type coating is peeling off mostly on the bonet but also on the back bumper. The vehicle is almost 9 yrs old is this a fault?

I suspect this peeling is due to a previous repair. Take the car to your local car painter/panel beater and ask them to take a look and to provide an estimate for the required repairs.

It won’t be cheap by the sounds of things as they may want to strip the bonnet back to almost bear metal to guarantee the repaint wont flake or peel again.
