I have a 96 Subaru legacy GT which I currently have a non-turbo fuel pump in, however there seems to be many mixed opinions as to whether this is ok or not. It runs fine, however could it be causing long term problems?

If Subaru specify different fuel pumps for their turbo and non turbo engines, then you should not mix them up.

Any turbo engine is potentially frail due the stresses it can be subjected to so why run additional risks.

I don’t know what the differences are, or the possible risks of having the wrong pump fitted to be honest, but I do know the Japanese engineers would not stipulate different fuel pumps without good reason.
