What am I doing wrong to break my front left hubcap ? I have seen many others with the same problem.. Admittingly the last time was at night in Cambridge, a town I do not know, turning a corner and I hit the extended footpath. Thanks, .

I think you have answered your own question to be honest.

The left front hubcap takes the brunt of kerbs etc when parking and some hubcaps do tend to protrude out further than others.

Have a look at the cars with alloy wheels and no hubcaps. The outside edge of the rims normally suffer from the same bruising due to contact with kerbing etc.
