Hi, I'll soon be in the market for a new car. Like the look of the Toyota Prius and wonder if anyone has had any experience with one and, if so, would like to make any comments (positive and/or or negative).

It may sound like a silly idea but if you live in one of the main centres I suggest you talk to the many taxi drivers running these vehicles regarding reliability issues etc.

Around town, and on short runs is where they shine. On the highways, they start to lose their fuel economy benefits hence the fuel saving advantages the taxi drivers currently enjoy.

Cost and depreciation is one worry.

You could pay a lot less money for the same size vehicle and be streets ahead on overall running costs.

I agree with what the AA have said. If you spend most of your time driving from one stop light to the next it is an ideal vehicle.
