I have a 1995 Toyota HiAce 2.8L 4WD Hi-Lo Van. The vehicle has travelled 302,000km, probably 150,000km towing our heavy caravan, usually in two-wheel-drive. I imagine the rear diff would be showing signs of use by now, and wondered whether it could be swapped with the rarely-used front diff. Your comments would be appreciated.

The diffs will certainly be different. If you feel the need to swap diffs, you will need to find the correct diff for the model.

Thank you. I just thought if the back diff went into the front housing and the front diff went into the back housing the ratios between the two diffs would still be the same. The speed of the vehicle may be different of course, but nothing much else has really changed???
