Doing the usually yearly average driving how often should plus be changed?

It depends on the type of plugs and the type of usage. Some platinuum spark plugs have 100,000km or more life expectancy. However, under normal circumstances with normal plugs, (again, depending on the mileage), check the plugs once a year and be prepared to change them say, every couple of years.

Do you know of a NZ source for LONG REACH 18 mm spark plug. I currently use Champion D16's which are OK, but my vintage car originally came with the "Long Reach" plugs.

Failing that, adaptors are available, enabling 14mm plugs to be fitted, available from;
