I have a Toyota carina 1996 which has been leaking water. The source turned out to be one of the rear frost plugs. To get at this I am going to remove the engine this weekend and was looking at replacing both CV boots at the same time. With the engine out will this make access to the CV boots a lot simpler.

If you are removing the gearbox with the engine, it will make things a little easier as you will be decoupling the drive shafts (CV's) too. If you are only removing the engine by itself, it won't make much difference to changing the CV boots.
