I have an Odysee with 205/65R15's tyres that will need replacing soon.

1. Is there any advantage in replacing them with a slightly wider tyre on the same rim? Cost aside, will there be any improved grip and therefore safety?
2. My current tyres are some Asian ones that are just plain terrible (slipping etc). I want to replace them with a known/accepted NZ brand that is suited for NZ roads and conditions (we live in Auckland). Are you able to recommend either a few brands or specifically what I should be asking and looking out for?

The 205/65R is a wider tyre choice for the Odyssey as the other option is the narrower 195/65R.

Don’t step over the recommended line John, the Odyssey is a people mover not a sports car.

For your vehicle you can’t really go wrong with brands such as Goodyear, Firestone/Bridgestone, Yokohama, Michelin, Kumo or Hankook.

Final choice could come down to price to be honest as it’s a very competitive market.
