Ask an expert

I recently had my Primera (1996) seviced and had an air and fuel filter replaced, it is running quite well, however, the 'behaviour of the AT seems to have changed and now it occasionally 'forgets to change into third' probably after things warm up a bit, the AT fluid is how it should be ,ie a cherry red with no burning odours, when l sit in neutral, and test change between the gears there is a feeling of slight 'lurching', l feel that things are not quite right, despite the fluid being ok etc, hopefully this is an adjustment problem, l live on the shore and would like to have the vehicle looked at by an expert, which l am hoping you can recommend, this lurching problem has always existed and there has been a whining problem if l slow down to ,say negotiate traffic bumps, this seems to have disappeared but l am left with the uncertainty of the AT status generally which initially seems smooth but then 'forgets itself' possibly after the engine has warmed up
sounds like big bucks but l hope not, l am hoping it could be the 'bands',....... any ideas....Thanks Steve
