My scooter's belt gave out last friday and I called AA to get it towed home.

Today, called AA and got it towed to a mechanic. When the mechanic called me to tell me that they were finished, they also told me that the cable going to the front wheel for the speedometer was broken, which was likely from how the tow truck tied up my scooter.

What are my options here? It already cost me a lot to replace the belt and I don't want to shell out more for damage caused by someone else if I can help it.
