Long shot here.

I recently took my car in to get 4 new tyres as they were all badly worn and getting pretty dodgy. Unfortunately the Tyre Shop were unable to get the Lock Nuts off as the key has completely worn out on the inside. I have only recently purchased the car (10 months) and had no idea of the condition of the key until now.

The car is a 2012 Ford Mondeo Titanium. Went into local Ford Dealership who were utterly rude and pretty much laughed at me, telling me it was a common problem and there are no replacements to be had. Their brilliant answer was there was no replacements and to try and get them off myself. We have attempted to DIY them off, but they have spinning collars on them, which are proving impossible to snap off.

I have rang everyone I thought might be able to help, but to no avail. I have even rang everyone in surrounding cities and still no joy. The Ford dealer in the nearest City ordered in what they thought was the right part, but unfortunately after a trip over to check them out, it was not the right key.

Ford have been unwilling to help sort this issue out, and now I am at a complete loss as to what to do. Tyres are no longer legal and with me needing to do 150km plus a week for Hospital appointments, its vital I try and get this sorted.

Is there any suggestions from anyone out there, as to who to call that I may have missed, or anything that might be able to help.... I have run up against so many brick walls, and I cant believe something so simple as a worn out crappy bit of metal has pretty much grounded my vehicle...

Ford rather brilliantly do not list the part number on the key, but on the plastic bag the key comes in. The bag which has probably long been discarded by the previous owner...

Hi there,
I recommend visiting tyre shops till you get someone either who might have a key or a tool (even home made) that will get them off and sell you a new set or some standard wheel nuts.
