I am taking my Toyota Vitz on the car ferry this weekend. The pre-travel advice from Kiwi Rail is to "disable the car alarm and anti tow alarm" while the car is on the ferry during sailing. What is the easiest way to do this?

I recommend just using the key to lock the car and not the remote button which would generally activate any alarm system.
