Dear advisor,
After the front brake pads are replaced, would these steps be correct:
- the wheels are reinstalled
- the car is lowered
- the engine is started (is this optional?)
- the brake pedal is pumped several times until it feels firm
- the car is driven very slowly while the brake feel and operation are confirmed to be normal
I'd much appreciate your valuable advice.
Cheers :)

Hi there,
Yes this would be a correct process after the pads are replaced. This is because in order to fit the new pads the technician would push the brake pistons back to allow the new pads to be installed and once the vehicle is assembled they would pump the pedal to push them back out and to ensure the brake pedal is firm once again. The engine would be started to check the brake assist/booster operation.
