Hello
The display console which shows the reverse camera, radio and mobile connection in my 2014 Mazda Axela intermittently shut down. It would work every time I started the car but would shut down after anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. I took it to an auto electrician who took it out and she the chip was fried which I’m confused about as I figured if that was the case, it wouldn’t have worked at all. They now want to charge me $1100 for a second hand display with pcb. Does this cost sound correct? I’m not sure what to do.

Hi there,
Some electronics can be affected by heat and so this could explain why it work when first turned on and once heats yup then if fails. This would sound logical price for a professional repair with guarantee.
