I am in the process of purchasing a vehicle and during the pre-purchase inspection it was detected that the battery was weak and it it was recommended that it be charged. The car is used daily so would a charge help or is it an indication the the battery will need replacing.

Sometimes a battery could need a decent trickle charge before further testing to see if the battery will return to a serviceable state, or if it is on its way out and require replacement.
