Hi Team, I recently had my 2017 mitsibishi AsX in for its 30,000. service as reminded on the cars computer. I went for the full treatment of platinum service and tyres rotated. I followed up with a wheel alignment a few days later however when picking up my car after the service I noticed it sounded quite different... noisey in the exhaust when you put your foot on the gas it sounded louder and more rotary? It just wasn't the same as before. I had had a new cabin filter installed also so wandered if that was the case? and also waited to see if it changed after the wheel alignment was done(mentioned It at the time of alignment drop off also). However it is still sounding louder than normal even the daughter commented on it. My question is, would this be anything to do with the new mineral oil on platinum service or cabin filter or wheel rotation? Any advice appreciated as it went in with no issues to note.

Hi there,
The cabin filter is in the air intake for your heater-A/C system but if not installed correctly could be letting in more outside noise than normal- but it would be rare as the compartment is very small and a tight space. This could be the same with the air filter, if the air box wasn't quite clipped in. The oil used shouldn't affect the engine sound, if the tyres had unusual wear and were rotated to the front- then there maybe something there. The best way would to go back to the workshop and let them know you are experiencing a strange sound that didn't appear before. They might need to change the tyres back and see if the sound goes away or have a look to see if anything is amiss.
