Hi,

Looking at buying one of these but not sure about the gear stick on the panel by the air con!!! Are there any known problems with these cars? This one has had the price dropped from $8995 to $6850? with $118,000 kms. Seems like a good deal, are they too good to be true?

The Avencier is built on the Accord plattform and is not regarded as a car to be avoided, actually quite to the contrary. Like the Accord, it is a very user friendly, versatile, and reliable vehicle. Most Avenciers have the F23 engine, which is a very proven and reliable 4 cylinder 2.3lt engine. The others have a 6 cylinder 3lt and may even be four wheel drive.
To gain more space between the front seats, the gear shifter has been moved into the dashboard. At the first glance, it looks out of the norm and out of place, but it is very easy to operate and equally reliable as the floor shifter types.
Your 2002 Avencier seems to be priced to sell. Be sure you know the exact model and drive configuration and check it out properly. If you can't do it yourself, get it inspected by the AA.

The make, the model, the year, the mileage and price seem all good and worth further investigating.
