As I am driving my speedo and rev counter drop to zero and my care does not seem to change gears at this point. I have thought it is associated with a pre-dip in revs. Not sure about that. If I pull over and start the engine it appears to go back to normal. It's been intermittent, but on a recent trip, it happened more than 10 times in a row. Desperately need some help on this as auto electrician said he could not help.

Hi there,
After a bit of searching, it looks like there is a fairly common fault in the instrument cluster with a simple fix, a connection needs soldering back on. This would be the first place I would look before getting into more technical possibilities.
