Hi,
I bought a car that was 2.5 years old and about 25,000kms. It still had 6 months left of warrantee on it.
Shortly after purchasing the car discovered it had an mechanical issue that will only show up intermittently.
It has now been in and out of the dealers workshop for the last 18 months and they have not been able to fix problem.
The car is now outside of the warrantee period.
1. Should the repair still be covered by the warrantee?
2. What should happen if the are unable to fix problem?

Hi there,
It would be best to ask these questions to the car manufacturer who holds the warranty. I would think that as the issue is documented while under warranty- that the repair/investigation is still ongoing and so should be covered until they find it. This is as long as they actually identify it as being a fault and not an annoying characteristic of the vehicle.
