Hi there :) Our Toyota Passo has failed its WOF due to worn front mount bushings. VTNZ expressly confirmed it was just the bushings not the mount. The garage says that the whole front mount has to be replaced (at a high price) and that you cannot replace just the bushings. Looking online this is not true and the parts are readily available and they can be replaced separately. Please help as we feel we are being taken for a ride.

Even though the bushings may be available, it might be that the workshop has a policy and they don't wish to replace just the bushes- as it can be quite a process to remove and the risk of damage to the arm during the process can be high- or they may not have the tools or experience to carryout the repair and would rather fit a new arm instead. Places like The Mount Shop generally stock both the arm or replacement bushes.

We found a garage to do just the brushes...$400 cheaper.
