Hi,
I privately purchased a 2012 Toyota Aurion.
I am the second owner and it has done 112k.
It appears that the first owner only changed the oil about every 20-25k. I found this out from the car records.
I had the oil changed and it does not appear as "clean" as it should be. It smells a little burnt and feels a little gritty.
Should I flush the engine before I change the oil again?
Can flushing the engine damage the motor?
Any other thoughts about this?
Thanks.

Hello ,20-25K intervals is a bit long between services, doing a oil change wont do any harm, but perhaps before doing a full engine flush you may want to have a mechanic remove the rocker cover to see if there is any significant build up of deposits in the engine.
