Good Day, I had my Toyota Corona tested at the WOF recently and it failed due to the "Brakes Imbalance Axle 2".

The test results on the sheet for axle 2 said:
Left/Weight 180 Right/% 130 Max % imbalance 29.

From that I concluded that the right rear drum brake was problem. I inspected and adjusted the right hand shoes and took the car back for a re-test, but got the same result. I then inspected the left shoes and see that they have brake fluid on them and the cylinder is leaking. Do the test results above actually indicate which side the problem is on or am I reading them wrong?
Thanks

Hi there,
This test can show that either one side is weak or the other is too effective- as it is just an imbalance reading. So in this case the brake fluid leaking onto the drum makes the brake grab on too much, rather than the other side not grabbing enough.
