I have a 1.8lt Auris and a couple of services ago I noticed the engine oil light come on midway between servicing.
I found hardly any oil on the dip stick and was quite alarmed.
I have had the car serviced regularly at Toyota since purchased.
I have been doing some research and found multiple stories online regarding issues with the oil seal drain holes in the pistons being too small and clog up around 70,000 to 100,000 kms.
Do you know if there anybody else who has experienced this issue with a similar toyota vehicle in NZ?

Hi there,
I have read that there is a known issue with some 2AZ-FE Toyota engines using oil (overseas forums). You may need to contact a Toyota agent and see if there is anything you can do about it, just keep in mind that the Auris is an import and the NZ manufacturers representatives may be able to offer much help. http://www.toyotaproblems.com/excessive-oil-consumption/
