good morning,
I wonder if someone there can help me answer some questions re upgrading my existing trailer please.
I am in the process of renovating my light trailer. Rather than replacing tyres, wheel bearings etc, I can get a whole new axle assembly manufactured for the trailer and just replace it for the old one.
Is this allowed?
If so, can I upgrade it to a braked arrangement?

Hi Martin,
Trailers generally don't require specialist certification for these modifications unlike cars. Just make sure the wof rules are adhered to with regards to braking systems, hubs and axles: https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general-trailers
