I purchased second hand car only three month ago and it started to keep breaking down on me... I already spent about $1000 ($1800 include towing paid by AA) to fix it but still more to be fixed.
I just think it’s not so fair.. Is there any law or insurance to protect buyer like me?

Hi there,
Remedies would depend on how you purchased and what use the vehicle is used for.
Private vehicle purchase from a dealer gives you the CGA which is a regulation that governs dealer obligations on a vehicle being fit for purpose and reasonably free of defect. You must give the dealer first right of remedy and follow their guidance in repair. Private sales have no such guarantees and can be difficult to obtain remedies after purchase. https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/help-product-service/cars/
